This is a recent message I sent to Julia C. Martinez about my concerns of the appointment of Steve Johnson to the Board of the Department of Health and Human Services. As deaths of both children and adults have happened while Steve Johnson a
former veterinarian, have happened on Steve Johnson's watch, and Steve Johnson has remained silent about the problems that brought about these deaths, Steve Johnson should not serve on the Board of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Julia,
As I stated before, I was told that I could file a complaint about members on the Board of Health and Human Services, and that this complaint would be used in the appointment process. Senate confirmation is part of the appointment process. I would like to know that a formal complaint is being filed and recorded about problems that I think go with the appointment of Steve Johnson to the State Board of Health and Human Services. These problems have lead to the deaths of people and children in Larimer County, which Steve Johnson is a County Commissioner of. I feel that a person should at least speak out about these problems that exist in their own County, if they want to be on the State Board of Health and Human Services. Steve Johnson has not done that, and has taken 177 days, and has done nothing about the use of false statements in the sexual abuse case, of my daughter by Larimer County Department of Human Services employees Angela Mead, and Susan Kaul. Steve Johnson has also followed the advice of Larimer County Attorney George Hass to ignore the case and use of false statements made by one of George Hass's attorneys, Linda Connors who fabricated evidence in the case of sexual abuse of my daughter. Steve Johnson has exhibited qualities that do not make him fit to serve on the Board of Health and Human Services. Steve Johnson has exhibited that he is not fit to serve as a member of the Board Health and Human Services, by not being able to review the use of false statements by Larimer County employees in 177 days, while another veterinarian can complete the work required to export cattle to Mexico in 26 days.
One thing that I have asked many current elected representatives, is why can Colorado not find people that make Colorado a leader in the field of Child Welfare? The appointment of Steve Johnson to the Board of Health and Human Services does nothing to help make Colorado a leader in any field Steve Johnson is associated with. As Steve Johnson stood before representatives, Kevin Lundberg, BJ Nikkell, and John Kefalas, and touted the use of "Differential Response". As "Differential Response” requires DHS employees to correctly assess situations, they need to have those skills. As Summer Moon Hawk, could not survive for over 24 days under the managed care of Ginny Riley and Jim Drendle, it is obvious that these people cannot implement "Differential Response". If they had the skills to use "Differential Response", Summer Moon Hawk would be alive today. For Steve Johnson to support the use of a method that Larimer County Department of Human Services has shown they cannot do, shows that Steve Johnson is not a good choice for the Board of Health and Human Services. Steve Johnson will not bring the thought process that will make the Department of Health and Human Services a leader. Steve Johnson will be happy to make the Department of Health and Human Services a follower, rather than leaders.
Julia, I would like this information to filed as a formal complaint. This information needs to be known by those who will confirm Steve Johnson. This appointment is bad for the citizens of Colorado, as deaths of both children and adults have happened on Steve Johnson watch as Larimer County Commissioner. Steve Johnson should have a better understanding than most as he has medical training, which I am still wondering about, as Steve Johnson stood next to Larry Abrahamson and remained silent while Larry Abrahamson made statements about heat stroke and arsenic poisoning that is not supported by current medical literature. Steve Johnson has shown that he cannot bring about the changes that will increase the safety and welfare of the residents of Colorado. If anything Steve Johnson has shown that he has and will place people in danger, rather than bring about improvements for the safety and welfare of the residents of Colorado.

Mr. Leverett,
It is not necessary for you to copy me in on these emails. As I indicated to you when we spoke, I am the legislative liaison for the department. I deal with policy and legislation. I have no authority with regard to who gets appointed to the state Board of Human Services. And I have no authority to deal with complaints about various appointments.
I do appreciate your interest in the board, of course.
Regards,

Steve Johnson and Tom Donnelly,
I have asked many times what is more important in Colorado, cattle or children? I think I have the answer. As I stated the International Health Certificate was sent to the USDA on September 29, 2011, to be reviewed and approved. That was not 100% true. It was sent to Lasater's for approval, to then be forwarded to the USDA. However, today the USDA sent back approval of the International Health Certificate, and are now asking for the ship dates, so that federal inspectors can make sure the correct ID of the cattle being shipped, and seal the trucks. Federal employees will be at all the rest stops and the border, to meet with Mexican officals to make sure the correct animals are crossing the border.
As I have been waiting since April 14, 2011 to hear anything from the LC BOCC about the use of false statements by Larimer County employees in a case of sexual abuse of my daughter. I think this shows that a current veterinarian can provide better care of animals than a former veterinarian who now sits on the Board of Larimer County Commissioners and cannot provide protection to children.
This need to have the positive ID of cattle seems to show that 8th Judicial District Attorneys office may want to look into how this is done so they do not question the ID of defendants until the sentencing phase of a trial. I would not call that good work on the part of Larry Abrahamson or Elliot Phelps. As over the past 50 years my father has been doing this work for Lasater's not once has the wrong ID of an animal placed a shippment in quarantine. I have to say that in my short time following the 8th Judicial District office job performance I cannot say the same.
Well, federal employees at the USDA are able to complete a review for the shippment of cattle to Mexico in 8 days. While I have been waiting now for 176 days now for you to do your job. Your job is for the protection of children, the USDA's job was for the tranportation of cattle. Which should have been completed first? I would have to say that the LC BOCC has shown another failure, at doing their job. I would also have to say the LC BOCC is fine with Larimer County employees making false statements while conducting county business. I see a problem with this, however, it seems the current LC BOCC does not.

This is an important issue as Steve Johnson supports teh use of false statements by Larimer Counthy employees while conducting business of the county. Your tax dollars are paying these false statements, and the abuse and deaths that result from them.
